Picked up this gator head from a reptile park gift shop and I want to take care of it properly. I’ve heard people use polyurethane spray to keep it glossy, but I’m not sure if that’s actually good for the piece.

What is the best way to protect/preserve it long‑term? How to keep the teeth and skin from damage? And any suggestions on how to display?

Also, I’m giving it to someone as a gift and I’ll have to ship it to them. Any tips on how I should pack and ship it safely?

I really don’t know anything about taxidermy. I just figured it would make a good gift, so any tips would help a ton. Thank you!
