As much as I love games like The Last of Us and Red Dead 2, they feel like safe games with near perfect execution. What I'm after now is something that is fairly unconventional and out there, while remaining impactful, even if it is flawed in it's attempt. Examples of games I've enjoyed are 1000xResist, Planescape Torment, Disco Elysium, The House in Fata Morgana, Signalis, Silent Hill 2, Riven, Z.A.T.O. , Metal Gear Solid 2, Outer Wilds.

The Pathologic games are on my radar too.

Platforms are PC, PS4, Switch, or any earlier gen console.
