Help me pick! Clash or Boom?
Hello! The title says it all. I’ll try to make this brief.
I have been playing Tennis since January. I know the basics already. FH, BH, Footwork, Serving but I know I need Improvement and need more training. I have joined matches as well so I will get used to game jitters and for the experience as well.
With that in mind, I’ve been planning to buy a new racket to improve my game better. I know that it’s not the racket but the player holding the racket. I just feel sluggish with my current one.
Sluggish meaning I am a little inconsistent when it comes to my swings sometimes. Sometimes I hit it, sometimes it shanks or the power is way off. I prepare late or early because I feel the weight of my racket sometimes and cant relax and have to power through my shots. I think Im also developing tennis elbow because of it.
For reference my current racket is a 2007 Babolat AeroPro Drive. I bought it off marketplace. The strings are Wilson S-Gut Multifilament at 48 tension.
I’ve been reading online about the Wilson Clash 100 V3 and I was dead set on getting it. However, I then saw an ad for the new 2026 Head Boom MP and found the specs good as well. Now I’m having trouble picking which one is better. Anyone here who has experience using the two?
Preferably I’m looking for something forgiving and light (But not an L or UL racket) but can still have power in its swings with control. Something to help me prepare my swings early and not feel heavy as the game goes on. And most importantly, something to help me enjoy the game and for my opponent to enjoy playing against me as well. Hahaha.
About me: 31M, 63KG.
I would love to hear your suggestions.
TL:DR Looking to buy a new racket and having trouble deciding between Wilson Clash 100 V3 and 2026 Head Boom MP. Open to other options as well.
