What would you do?
I've been a cpap user for 22 years. I've been using the same machine - a Devilbiss Autopap - and same mask type for the past 15. Slept like a baby with a setting of 14cm/h2o. No ramping, just turn on, and use.
The other week as part of a general checkup I was prescribed a new sleep study which resulted in getting a new Airsense 10, set to ramp from 5-15. I quite frankly don't like it at all. It has all the bells and whistles and settings but I slept better with my old machine. I intensely dislike the ramp feature.
It tells me it settles on 14cm/h20 which has been my number for 22 years. I also get the feeling that the machine's "smarts" are juggling the pressure throughout the night since I don't feel like I'm getting a good night's sleep.
I don't care about the settings, the software, OSCAR, etc. I like how my old setup just worked... turn on and turn off. Should I give it more time or call the doctor? I'm a firm believer in not fixing something that isn't broken.
Thanks!
