Worried it's too much at once?

Hi everyone,

I've lost 100lbs almost 10 years ago and I'm now looking into surgically fixing some of the consequences. I also have lipoedema so I had to find a specialist surgeon.

I was initially recommended for two surgeries:

  1. Arm lipo (to remove leftover lipoedema) and arm lift OR arm lipo with just Renuvion to tackle the laxity AND a breast lift
  2. 360 lipo to abdomen and back with Renuvion to back and upper tummy with abdominoplasty.

After deciding against arm lift and just wanting arm lipo with Renuvion while also seeking to limit surgical procedures so I can go back to fitness sooner, I was happy to find out that due to my fitness level (I know I don't look as fit due to lipoedema and loose skin but I am XD), the doctor was comfortable with doing just one surgery which would be:

360 trunk liposuction with Renuvion to upper/mid back, abdominoplasty with flanks/mons liposuction, rectus plication and Renuvion to upper abdomen, liposuction arms with Renuvion, breast lift with auto-augmentation

Although I am thrilled, a part of me is a bit worried that it's too much at once and that it could somehow affect the outcomes. I know it will be much tougher to recover from, but I am looking for one recovery if at all possible. I just wanted to ask for some opinions.

Thank you x

Advice on leg surgery

Hi everyone 😊

I just found out I’ll be able to complete my upper body in 1 surgery instead of 2, which is amazing news. It’s also made me start considering legs earlier, before any future pregnancies. For reference, Dr Georgiou will be doing my upper body.

I feel bad even bringing this up because I know pain relief is the priority for most people, and I completely understand that. I’ve been there too. I’m very privileged now to even be worrying about aesthetics.

But honestly, after having this condition since I was 6, I’ve never really had the chance to like my body until my 30s, and I’m scared of losing the curves I’ve finally learned to love.

A lot of lower surgery results I’ve seen have a look that feels “off” to me — not because of lumpiness, but because the feminine curves seem to disappear. The legs become very skinny while the hips/glute area looks boxy or disproportionate, almost like post-menopausal fat redistribution. I hope that makes sense...

I naturally have very wide hips, so I’m worried that removing too much fat from my legs could create that same “oversucked,” boxy look.

I’d really like to understand what causes this specific outcome so I know what to discuss with my surgeon, and whether there’s a way to avoid it. The only clinic whose results consistently look more balanced to me is Lipemedical in Madrid — some of their work looks incredible imo. Does anyone know what they do differently?

Also, if anyone here has had lower surgery and does heavy weightlifting / had a lot of leg muscle under the lipoedema, were you happy with your results?

Thank you all 🙏

Hi everyone,

I've been doing Internet research for months now on different lipoedema surgeons. I've seen and read an endless amount of shared testimonials.

On top of lipoedema removal, I knew I wanted to do TT and a breast lift due to massive weight loss so I'm looking for not only someone who's experienced and knowledgeable with lipoedema but also cares strongly about the aesthetics (my pain is nowadays almost non-existent thanks to conservative treatments so I have the privilege that I understand not many do).

From the get go, I immediately loved Dr Georgiou and thought he checked all the boxes but I forced myself to choose a few more - Dr Menayo and Dr Nowicka seemed to be aligned with what I wanted.

I just had my first consultation and it was with Dr Georgiou and I loved him a lot and I thought he was exactly what I wanted and was hoping for. He understood exactly what I needed, and elevated it with his advice to protect me from any unnecessary treatments while combining medical with aesthetics.

Now I don't even want to book other consultations but a big part of me thinks that's not smart 🤓

Did any of you experience the same and were you still glad you booked additional consultations?

Thanks everyone 🙏

Hi everyone,

I just had my first consultation with the wonderful Dr G. Going in, I fully expected to be recommended for lipo and arm lift, however, he thinks just lipo and Renuvion would give me the results I want.

Because I powerlift a lot, he was upfront with the fact that I could experience a lot of tightness in the arms due to scars that could make exercise harder for up to a year.

I really want nicely sculpted arms but my fitness is also very important to me. Now I'm very split and would love to hear and see anyone similar to me who got just lipo and Renuvion and whether you are happy and how much tightening you experienced?

Lastly, the price difference between no arm lift and with arm lift was insignificant (literally 500 euros difference) which confused me a bit. Is this normal? I don't want to have to pay for an arm lift down the line...

Thank you x
