The test was 40 multiple-choice questions and 4 short-answer questions. Everything was going fine until I got to the short answers—I completely blanked and didn’t know what to write. A friend sitting in front of me noticed I was struggling and took my paper, swapped it with hers, and wrote a few sentences to try to help.

When she gave my paper back, there were only about 5 minutes left. The problem is she wrote the answers in the wrong spaces (like putting the answer for one question under a different number), so I had to rush to fix everything and rewrite it correctly. I didn’t have enough time to fully redo it, so now my exam has two clearly different handwriting styles in the short-answer section.

I’m worried the professor is going to notice and accuse me of something. Has anyone been in a situation like this? What would you do?
