Has anyone else had an experience like this?
I bought an item already at an up-charged price, and the seller never shipped. I sent 2 messages inquiring about shipping with no response. I reached out to Mercari customer service and basically was told to wait. After 32 days with no update I sent another message and saw that the seller had the same item on sale for over twice what I paid… so I’m assuming they are selling my item without cancelling or responding to my messages still.
I reached out to Mercari again and they ‚understand my frustration‘ but ‚can’t do anything‘ I can either continue to wait or cancel and get reimbursed. So I said they need to reach out and I will wait to see.
However it’s now been 42 days and this item is at the higher price everywhere. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of because if the seller just would have declined or cancelled right away I would have been able to get the item for slightly higher than what they had priced it. Now all listings are that super jacked up price.
I reached out again today and basically it’s the same response. No repercussions for seller, customer service said they tried to reach out also with no response too, but I’m being told to cancel and there’s nothing they can do…. That doesn’t seem right.
Any suggestions or insight to this happening to others. I love using Mercari usually and have only had positive experiences. But this is something that really makes me think that it’s not worth it…
Edit: I canceled. I was just was wanting to know if there was anything else to be done.
