T818 Disconnects: Sport Mode is the solution?!

Since i got my T818 in late 2023, i suffered from occasional disconnects while driving. I send in my base two times, switched to a more stable wheel stand and tried a bunch of other options. Things got worse in the last couple of months with a lot of disconnects and a surprising realization: i can pretty much force the disconnects in specific settings and on specific tracks. I was able to replicate the disconnects in AC Evo and LMU while driving at Imola. Those always happened in the long, decending corner near Rivazza. I was using Performance mode with 90 or 100% strength in the base settings. Disconnects always occur in corners with heavy resistance forces and road bumps. Another example is the last corner on Road Atlanta.

Whats just as surprising? After i switched to Sport mode with 70%, i got no more disconnects. No matter the sim, track or corner, those disconnects didnt happen and i have tested for many hours. I bumped up strength to 90% - but still no disconnects in Sport mode.

Those of you who suffer from disconnects with the T818 - i encourage you to try Sport mode. I'm under the impression that Sport mode flattens some of the most extreme effects that can cause disconnects for some weird reason.

Hello there, i'm about to leave Thrustmaster behind after having too much trouble with my T818. I'm about to go with an Moza R9 now, but i'm having a hard time deciding which rim i should buy. I'm a fan of prototypes, lmdh and hypercars. I prefered to use the SF1000 on my T818, which is a 280 mm F1-style wheel. The Moza FSR2 would be the logical choice for me, but boy, it is expensive. Another issue is that i'm well aware that the 300 mm GS V2P GT is propably the better choice for GT3 racing. And yes, i had a dedicated rim for GT3 racing on my Thrustmaster (488 GT3, to be precise). I'm having a hard time getting my head around the fact that i propably need to buy both rims to get the most of my sim racing. Thoughts?
