There’s just one final planting left on June 6th to complete this transformational project, and we still need volunteers to give us a hand - details at communitygreening.org/events.

Barwick Park is a lot cooler these days thanks to running paths shaded by a mini-forest of slash pines planted by Community Greening less than a decade ago, as part of their Tree Planting Campaign in partnership with the City of Delray Beach!

What was once a sun-scorched park is now a cooler and more usable greenspace, despite the hot Florida sun - proving once again that trees are critical green infrastructure for our neighborhoods!

Community Greening’s latest Tree Planting event added 113 more native shade trees to Dyer Park in WPB in celebration of Earth Day (April 22, 2026).

This was just one of many plantings that will add 1,000 Florida native shade trees to this former landfill turned park - thanks to a partnership between Community Greening, the Florida Forest Service, and PBC Parks & Recreation.

The final two plantings for the project will take place on May 2nd and June 6th.
