Please please please don’t start a business.

I have been seeing a growing popularity with wanting to start a business and I gotta tell you guys it’s a trap. Seeing people who made it on YouTube or TikTok with headlines like “I went from nothing to making 200,000 a year selling cupcakes” is like trying to win the lottery or trying to get rich with day trading. Yeah it’s possible but the odds are stacked against you. The difference between playing the lottery vs starting a business is the lottery only takes 2 bucks from you while starting a business ruins YOU and your future.

You pay higher in taxes, more than anyone should even if you’re doing badly, getting help is nearly impossible because you won’t be able to afford it! You know how angry you are at seeing jobs only paying $15 an hour? Small businesses can’t afford to pay more! I’ve seen this happen first hand so many times. Some new business owner wants to be different. He wants to pay everyone a livable wage, then he can’t afford to keep people on the payroll because 80% of his profit is going towards the employees.

Okay, more realistic numbers is more like employees should only be taking 15% but are getting paid 30% but people don’t know how to think in percentages so saying 80% gets the math across in the avg joe’s mind.

The amount of stress you are under is nothing compared to working a normal job with a shitty boss. The amount of sacrifice you aren’t even considering will destroy your social life. You could go a year trying your damnest to find clients or people to buy whatever you are selling and not get a single call.

You only see the people who make it!!! No one talks about the number of people who take their lives after failing, no one is talking about the people who live in a cardboard box because no one took a chance on their cleaning business. Anyone telling you to start a business is not your friend! This is what will happen more than likely, you will fail, you will go to that friend and they say “that’s rough buddy” then abandon you after they spend weeks telling you over and over to start a business. DO NOT DO IT! Yes it is possible. So is a lot of shit that is most likely never going to happen.

I’m telling you guys this from experience! I have seen so many families ruined because of business, I have seen people who finally got out of poverty start a business only to end up worse off than they were! Do not do it. It’s a trap! People telling you to do it are delusional and not your friend! Don’t do it!

Idk wtf it is about reddit... but they seem to think ever city has a perfect god damn public transportation system.

I've never been to a city that has a bus stop going past 10pm, I never been to a city that has a bus stop thats walking distance from most jobs, shit I ain't ever been to a city that feels safe enough or clean enough for you to bring grociess on it!

Public transportation in the United States is TERRIBLE!!!

I'm a baker. My job starts at 2am and ends at 11 or 12am depending on the day. (No break because bread) if my car breaks, im fucked. Because public transportation might as well be a goddamn myth!

Nearest bus stop from my house is a 1 hour walk. So if I wake up at 1am ready to go at 1:30 how tf you expect me to make that damn walk?

I'm so sick of people thinking taking the bus is easy. The bus doesn't even show upon time! Weekend schedule are different for some god forsaken reason, small towns dont even have emm!!!

My immediate reaction is to say no shit. I know that would be rude. I don't say it. But her saying that extremely obvious statement is equally as rude to me as if I would say no shit Sherlock to her.

Why do people do this! Why do they state extremely obvious facts out?

I take 1mg ever 2 hours a day and people where calling me addicted, and high and im 270lbs and 6 ft dude. I was trying to explain to them that's not enough for someone my body weight to get high but they wouldn't listen.

Its crazy how people dont listen to anything after the age of 13

Ive been taking 1mg of cannabis ever 2 hours, not exactly measured im just cutting up gummies. So maybe 1mg to 1.5mg but ive noticed I can sit down and study for a lot longer and actually remember stuff now.

So im wondering if there's studies on this or if im just placeboing myself
