I’m 3 weeks away from running a half marathon. My training plan has already been modified because I have some setbacks due to an old hip labrum tear that flared up right before I was about to begin training. That being said, I’ve doing a bunch of PT to help my hip and now I started getting pain in my heel. It doesn’t hurt in the morning, just when I’m walking around barefoot mostly. I’m hesitant to go for my scheduled long weekend run tomorrow but also don’t want to mess with an already heavily modified plan for a race that’s 3 weeks away. Any advice? I’ve done a bunch of halfs - should I just chalk this one up to a loss or is there something I can do to manage this without ruining my summer?
FWIW, I’ve been running a fair amount for almost 20 years and have never had plantar fasciitis so in hesitant to immediately chalk it up to that but who knows.
