So I know these two girls, I’ll call them Jessica and Lili. They’ve been friends since like 2022 and were part of a 6-girl friend group.
Their friendship has always been kinda complicated. At some point, Jessica got really attached to Lili, like a bit obsessive and lowkey jealous of her with the other girls. But at the same time, Lili also did things that hurt Jessica.
For example, there was this one time they all planned to hang out, but everyone canceled last minute because of family stuff, and Jessica still went alone. The others tried to make it up to her and she said she forgave them, but after that she started acting different. She didn’t fully cut them off, but she became kinda resentful and would show that she didn’t like them or was annoyed with them.
Lili was actually one of the people closest to her and tried to fix things and get close to her again, but it didn’t really work. Eventually Lili got frustrated, picked a fight, and cut Jessica off.
Then like years later, Lili reached out again (with the other girls too), and they all reconnected. Lili apologized for the fight, and Jessica said she didn’t hold any grudges anymore. After that they got really close again and even threw big birthday parties for each other.
Then Lili went through a breakup with her boyfriend and was really down, so she wasn’t the best friend to Jessica during that time. Jessica felt disappointed again, but they talked about it and kind of fixed things, just not 100%.
After that, Lili got back with her boyfriend, and this created another problem. The boyfriend and Jessica were also kinda friends, so when the breakup happened, Jessica felt like she lost him as a friend because she had to side with Lili. Even though Lili was okay with them staying friends, the guy ended up cutting Jessica off and didn’t really see her as a friend, just as his girlfriend’s friend.
So when Lili got back with him, Jessica got hurt again and started acting cold towards Lili.
Now Jessica deleted her social media and made a new account where she doesn’t follow anyone. She says she’s just quitting social media, but she’s also acting distant again, while still talking to the group and Lili on another app.
The thing is, Lili feels like she’s always the one trying to fix things. Whenever something goes wrong, she’s the one who brings it up and tries to talk it out, while Jessica usually just stays silent about what’s bothering her.
So yeah… it’s like they care about each other but keep going in circles.
