Hi again everyone! I want to sincerely thank everyone who participated in my first post here for the much needed critiques on Ch. 1. After some sweaty typing and 1 am caffeine highs I think I developed a stronger chapter. As a thank you to everyone I also added the prologue and my table of contents. Feel free to critique the chapter and act titles as well. ❤️

Can’t wait to hear from all of you.

28 (M) in Pennsylvania. I’ve been trying my best ever since I got back last year from my dorm stay at ASU. Couldn’t afford the second semester. I knew once I got back I’ll have no life without a car. Not a chance at anything. So I worked full time as a CNA 16 hour shifts Saturday and Sunday.

I did that from July 4th to around end of November. I got a new Nissan SUV with 494 monthly payments. Insurance was 343, get back to that later, and phone is 174 (also get back to that). I am also probably 50k in student loan debt by now. Even their in collections too. I live in a city where they only sell lemons to the minorities. As I, a PR Gen Z, had different dealerships try to sell me lemons with astronomical prices. Many dealerships around my area prey on us since we come from either low income or no English backgrounds. (I had to add more contexts since folks were getting mixed up. Sorry in advance.)

So many collection agencies from previous debts keep pestering me… and today my premium is now 600 dollars which 340 was already too much for me. I only make 2,400 a month. I don’t know what they expect of me. Often I think about just ending it because no matter where I turn someone or some entity wants money from I don’t have.

I even spoke to progressive. They said since my auto pay wasn’t going through, despite still paying the policy, it terminated that feature resulting in an increase. But why a 300 dollar increase????????????

I live with my dad to help ease the burden. Although, he doesn’t know I owe electric companies, insurance companies, parking tickets. These collection agencies want something I can’t even provide myself.

I’m such a f*ckin failure. I have life insurance tho so maybe I could make it look like an accident so that my dad could collect. He’s already have had one son gone and I don’t want to burden him with costs of a funeral.

I can’t even work extra hours because my scheduler refuses to give it to me when I ask. Even the CNA gigs with agencies don’t offer anything. Like what the actual hell am I supposed to do?

Edit: I’m trying to get to everyone there’s just so much to reply to.

Hi there! I’m 28(M) and I’ve been writing this book since July 4th last year. After graduating in my associates with communications I definitely want to publish something! Despite with 45,000 words already in the book since last year I still can’t afford an editor. So free resources like this can motivate me to finish it.

I am not really soft shelled about critiques. Love it or hate or feel like it’s meh. I can take it. I want to know if you would keep reading.

Plus let me know of any advice you wish to give me as a new unpublished writer. I hope I’m not asking for a lot. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Everyone’s feedback so far is very much appreciated. There are no local writing groups in my area unfortunately so it’s back to the late night drawing board for me. I’ll be back for an update!
