I've cracked the code

My very independent and strong spirited 2.5 year old has been getting more and more defiant. Diaper changes, getting dressed, putting toys away, you name it. He's the master of stalling.

The weather outside is shit today so i figured we'd just wander the mall. I try not to impulse buy, but this dragon hand puppet instantly got my attention and I felt compelled to get it. Why? I'm a simple mom. It made me laugh. He picks the colour and we're out. He calls him Thomas. Wonderful dragon name, right?

Go home, have lunch, time to put some toys away before naptime. Then the idea hits me.. what if Thomas puts the toys away? I put him on my hand and exclaim that Thomas is putting toys away. Immediately my toddler perks up and wants to get Thomas to put toys away. This was the easiest cleanup I've had in months.

Now Thomas is having a nap too. I'm excited to see what other magic Thomas can conjure up.

Do yourselves a favor and get a hand puppet.
