Are Derry used car dealers allergic to EVs?

It’s new car time and going all in on electric but not a single one of the Derry dealerships have any sort of decent stock of EVs. Looking at some popular choices like the Skoda Enyaq or Hyundai Ioniq5 and haven’t seen one in Derry in weeks of looking. Nearest place with a decent stock is Dungannon.

Yes I know I can drive to Belfast or whatever to test drive but between work and wains it’s difficult enough, let me rant! Just found it curious

Hey all, apologies for yet another “what EV should I buy?!” post but have my brain in knots going down various rabbit holes trying to decide what to go for!

Quick context: family of 4 (kids are 7 and 4) plus one very handsome but very large chocolate Labrador. Currently driving a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV which was/is great, and have accepted that anything we buy will be downsizing from that which is fine as we’re not dealing with prams and stuff anymore. Will be driving this for the next 4 years so need to be able to handle all manner of day trips with kids, scooters/bikes and the doggo.

Will be able to charge at home and mostly used for school and grocery runs. The kids grandparents live around 80 miles in opposite directions to us so max round trip will be 200-220 miles realistically.

Budget is 20k-ish

Here’s what I’ve narrowed it down to so far:

- Skoda Enyaq 80
- Kia Niro 2/3 65 kWh
- Nissan Ariya 63 kWh
- Hyundai Ioniq 5 73kWh (tentatively due to ICCU worries)
- VW ID 5 77kWh

Wild card is a BMW iX3 but being based in NI they’re less readily available at the 20k mark, would have to play a waiting game here.

Any opinions on what’s there, or any cars I’ve totally overlooked?

Thanks in advance, and also thanks in general for all the input across threads on this sub - there’s been some amazing and wonderful info and insight.
