6 days post op - septoplasty
Hi! I had a septoplasty on Tuesday, and now it's Monday afternoon. So 6 days post op.
Yesterday my doctor removed the plastic splints, but I still have almost zero airflow through my nose.
Another guy who had surgery the same day can already breathe around 20%, while I still feel completely blocked.
I'm rinsing with 0.9% saline (NaCl) about 5–6 times a day, but deep inside the upper part of my nose, it still feels fully congested. If I sniff in very hard, I can maybe feel 0.1% airflow.
Is this still considered normal after septoplasty? Why would I still be unable to breathe at all?
I also used decongestant nasal sprays for a long time before surgery, so I'm wondering if rebound swelling from that could be making things worse? Or why I can't breathe even a bit?
