Somebody PLEASE explain this to me.
The first day of my LMP was March 10th
I got a very faint positive April 8th.
If going off of that, I should be 7+6 today.
I went to my initial prenatal ultrasound/appointment today and gestational sac is measuring 6+6, but fetus is measuring 5+6.
They seemed concerned that baby is only 5+6 with LMP, but said it’s a good sign that the gestational sac was as small as it was because if the gestational sac was measuring 7+6, but baby 5+6, they’d be concerned.
They also heavily suggested I ovulated late, but the math isn’t mathing for me. My cycles have always been fairly consistent, but with the 2 week discrepancy, that would mean that I ovulated an entire week late? Where did the second week go?
I’m also not understanding how I got a positive April 8th, but baby still only measuring 5+6? It’s already been almost 4 weeks since then.
It all makes sense to me if I ovulated extremely late, and then implanted extremely early, I can wrap my brain around that. But the odds of that are so low, aren’t they?

They also saw a yolk sac (which they said was very promising, and we did see a fetal pole, but no heartbeat yet.
I’m following up in 11 days to see if there’s any progression, but I’m already just so confused. Has anyone experiences anything like this? Could someone explain this to me like I’m a toddler?
