My dad has me on his titles with the word “or” in between. He died on Wednesday. His wife now says the cars are hers because they’re married and she’s getting his last name. Is that true? She stole the titles and won’t give them back, I have filed for stolen titles and waiting to hear back.

I want to sell the cars as soon as I get the titles back and before she gets a chance to claim them, alter them (vandalism), or try to take me to court to get them. I should be ok to do so since it says “or” in between our names, right? She doesn’t have a proper power of Attorney formed filled out, she’s assuming because they’ve been married for a measly 4 months that’s enough and she’s now the sole owners.

Any insight?
