JW Cam Ranh Bay Resort & Spa with Luminous
Booked a Premium Ocean View room (the first category below a 1-bedroom Garden View Villa) with the Luminous programme through a travel advisor for 8 nights in May.
Asked about an upgrade at arrival; was told there was no availability. However, the app showed a Garden Villa available for 3 days and then an Ocean View Villa available for 4 days after that. The last day of my stay the property was fully booked. They also failed to check me in even 1 hour before the official check-in time and didn't deliver the honeymoon gift to the room.
So I wrote a letter to the GM expressing my concerns about choosing the property and booking under the Luminous programme.
Within 30 minutes I received a reply saying we would be moved to a Garden Villa from the second day through the end of our stay. The honeymoon gift was also delivered, which was a nice touch.
The villa is quite spacious for two people, as is the private swimming pool. The materials are excellent: wood and stone. Staff members are always welcoming. The resort grounds are very large, but buggies are easy to catch. Breakfast is full of excellent quality local and international food, pastry, and fruit; you can even order ramen or seafood soup. The sand beach is very clean, and the sunbeds are on a grass area, so your towels stay sand-free.
I'd say that my stay, except the arrival experience, has been going great.
