Now I’ve been in a relationship with this girl for 4 years. Back in January I went out to a party with my parents and throughout the night there was this girl that kept trying to press up on me and touch me. I kept telling her no and pushing her off. Later in the night I got really drunk and ended up going home around 5am. My girlfriend was out of the country at this time so when i woke up i called her and told her about the party and about the girl that was hitting on me. The next day my girlfriend’s friend [19M] (who we all went to school with, liked me, started rumors about me after I rejected him) tells her that he saw me and the girl kissing out in broad daylight. So he was wondering if we were still together. My gf tells him that we’re not together and that she didn’t know about any kiss. Then my gf messages me going off on how I’m making her look like a jackass and how I cheated on her and if it’s true. Now like I said i got drunk but i know for sure that I was telling this girl to back off the entire night. I told her this and that if it did happen then I didn’t want it. She calls me a set of names and that how she hates me and I’m fighting for the relationship telling her to find out more information because my parents were there and didn’t say anything. Then i message the guy and ask about the kiss and he said he didn’t see but his friend (who doesn’t know me btw) went into the bathroom and saw us making out. Then I ask him what’s the girl’s name or insta so I can message her and he said she didn’t want to be involved. So i tell him to go over the story again and he says that she says she went into the bathroom and saw me by the stall about to go in and the girl (who i’ve been rejecting) comes in and pushes me into the stall and starts “eating my face off”. After this I’m trying to tell my gf that not only is his story changing but if it did happen I clearly did not want it. She’s reluctant but we eventually moved past it.
Fast forward to today, she’s back in the country and it’s her friend’s [19F]birthday party (this friend and I used to hang out until the guy she liked, liked me and she started spreading rumors about me and calling me names) The same guy who told her about the party and the kissing in January is there as well. Before she left I asked her if the guy asks if me and her are together what would she say. She says she’d say no we’re not.
Now I understand that I ended up making her look bad regardless of if the kiss in Jan happened. Am I allowed to feel this hurt that she prefers to say that we’re not dating anymore around those friends for the sake of her not looking bad
