By day, I build software to advance open-access science. When I got my MyHeritage raw DNA data back, I was super frustrated with how little health insights I was able to extract for the money that I paid. I wanted to look at my healthspan and longevity markers, but every tool out there either paywalls you or monetizes your data behind your back.
I couldn't find something transparent and reasonably priced, so I started the Aevos project.
I initially just built the DNA analyzer, but I've expanded it into a full suite of Medicine 3.0 calculators:
• DNA Analyzer Checks 80+ traits (longevity, fitness, nutrition). Runs locally in your browser so your raw file never hits a server.
• DNA Comparison Upload up to 3 files to compare traits side-by-side with friends/partners.
• Healthspan Estimator: Calculates your biological functional potential vs actual age.
• Metabolic & Insulin Scores: Tools to calculate your HOMA-IR and metabolic syndrome risk based on your bloodwork.
• Zone 2 & Macros: Optimizes your cardiovascular and nutritional targets.
The two biggest things I focused on:
- Actually Private: For the DNA tool, the analysis runs locally. No raw data is ever uploaded or saved.
- Science-First: Everything links directly to the peer-reviewed papers so you can read the actual science instead of trusting a black box.
• Private and local
• Completely free
• No login required for the DNA analysis 🤯
I tested the DNA output against paid tools I've tried and the insights line up. Since I'm building this as an open-access project, I'd love feedback from this community. What health categories, calculators, or specific SNPs should I add next? Any other suggestions for the website?
