First time at Olympic! Feedback Welcome :)

I'm heading to Olympic this week! I'll be staying in Forks Thursday night, Port Angeles Friday through Sunday.

I've gone through like 9 iterations of this plan so far lol so i would love a gut check from people who know the area well! I'm OK with some longer days & driving times - wanna make the most of my time there and seems like some long drives are inevitable to hit all the big spots.

Thursday: Driving in from SEA-TAC to Forks
Grabbing groceries in Forks
Rialto Beach for dinner & sunset.

Friday: Hoh Rain Forest early morning (by 8am).
Hall of Mosses plus a few hours on the Hoh River Trail with lunch on the trail.
Cape Flattery in the afternoon.
Checking into Port Angeles

Saturday: West on 101 in the morning.
Sol Duc Falls
Lake Crescent
Marymere Falls (open to skipping based on time)
Back to airbnb for lunch.
Hurricane Ridge late afternoon. Open to staying on the ridge through sunset at 8:40pm.

Sunday: Chill morning in Port Angeles or Sequim
Driving SEA-TAC for 5pm

A few things I'd love input on:

  1. I know Hoh gets crowded quickly which is why i'm going early AM, but do the other spots also crowd up/have wait times?
  2. If I stay at Hurricane Ridge until 8:40pm sunset - is the road gated at any point in the evening?
  3. Anything I'm missing or would swap out?

Hi Bitches,

I've been seeing my therapist (psyD) since 2018 and it's been invaluable to me! She helped me through the PTSD I got from being SA'd with EMDR and my work with her has genuinely changed my life for the better.

Frequency of my appointments has ebbed and flowed depending on whats happening in my life, but currently it's been a few months since my last appointment and that feels good & right still.

That said, I'd like to start exploring Somatic Therapy. My therapist would get into some somatic practices - asking me where I feel things in my body - and I think exploring that deeper would be a huge benefit to me.

I'd love to know if any of you go to a somatic therapist and what the experience has been like for you! And I'd love any recommendations for somatic therapists - i generally prefer working with women, but I'd be down for a guy that comes highly recommended.

Mid May trip! Flying into SEA-TAC midday Thursday, staying in Port Angeles through Sunday morning. Rental car has to be back at SEA-TAC by 5pm Sunday. Would love feedback from people who know the park well.

I'm hoping to make the most of the later sunsets, but also want to make sure I'm not overpacking the schedule to leave some flexibility. I care less about hitting all the spots and prefer being able to mosey around and take my time enjoying the parks.

Thursday: Land in SEA-TAC at 12pm, pick up rental car, drive to Sol Duc Falls (~3:30pm), then drive to Port Angeles. Get to my Airbnb around 7pm.

Friday: Hoh Rain Forest ~8:30am (planning to leave PA at 6:00am to beat crowds), lunch in Forks around noon, then Second Beach at La Push from ~2pm through golden hour.

Saturday: Hurricane Ridge from ~9am through early afternoon, then Sol Duc Hot Springs around 4:30pm to close out the day.

Sunday: Lake Crescent and Marymere Falls (~noon) on the drive back to SEA-TAC for a 5pm rental car return.

A few specific questions:

  1. Is mid-May a good time for Hurricane Ridge or is there still too much snow to hike? Any trail recommendations for someone who prefers easy to moderate?
  2. Any tips for Second Beach - best tide conditions, what to watch for?
  3. Anything obvious I'm missing or a stop that's worth squeezing in?
  4. Any safety precautions for a single woman? I live in SF and travel solo frequently, so I understand the basic precautions. But anything a visitor might not know about the area would be great!

Thank you all!
