Vestiges of Grandeur from the Hexen remastered is one of the coolest expansions I've ever seen for a game like this.
I know people hate the puzzles and backtracking but to me that's what made Hexen special.
This expansions goes WILD with it though. It's essentially the size of the previous Hexen expansion but with a single hub. This means the levels are much bigger and there is much more backtracking. Finding new weapons is harder than in the other episodes, especially the final ones, and therefore you're more encouraged to use the class switching of the remastered(making the game feel fresher).
It's just very exploration focused. The levels look amazing too. Really makes up for the fact that there's not much "new" to it compared to something like Legacy of Rust from Doom for example.
