My PC specifications:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT
Hello everyone. Recently my computer has started experiencing some freezing and issues with restarting. At first it was just freezing entirely if I was switching tabs or just loading a video, then the PC would automatically restart. After doing some research, I realized this was due to the Fast Start Up. I disabled it and my PC began working as normal.
Yesterday, however, after restarting my PC, it just froze after booting. The windows loading animation would just freeze, but I was able to see my cursor and move it. Picture here. The PC failed to turn on no matter how long I waited. I ended up looking into it again and everything pointed to a driver mismatch, so I did the below:
Booted the PC in safe mode
In Device Manager, under Display Drivers, I uninstalled my graphics card.
Ran a command in command prompt to check for corrupt files/repair them.
After completing the above steps, my PC looks like it is working as normal.
Whilst the issue is resolved, I'm not actually sure what I did or what the next step here should be to avoid this happening again? When I look in my display adapters, I still see my graphics card there after uninstalling it. So what was the root cause of the issue? Do I need to reinstall any drivers again to play video games?
Appreciate any and all advice or tips I could get here.
