My daughter is going to cosmetology school soon after just graduating high school, and she's been cutting her own hair since she was 14. I want to get her some nice equipment that works well and will last and also not destroy my bank account.

I know she needs shears, thinning shears, and clippers. What brands and models are worth getting? How do you determine what to buy? Are $400 shears noticeably better than $250 ones?
