Doing a build listed below. Cannot get it to post. Seems like definitely a short of some type, as when I flip the psu switch and either hit the power button or short it there is power for literally less than a second. A blue light comes on and turns off on the mobo. psu fans for the same amount of time. Then. 0 power. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
I tried each of these at least once:
- I flashed the bios when the mono wasn’t plugged into anything
- once it was built, regular power on, peripherals and monitor plugged in
- unplugging peripherals, resetting the psu tried again
- Shorting the power switch instead of using the button.
- taking out a stick of ram so only channel A2 was occupied
- taking out everything but cpu, mobo and 1 ram stick. Unplugging everything else including the gpu
- resetting the cmos as described in the mobo manual
- stripping all the way down to taking the chip out of the socket and making sure it’s seated correctly, and there were no bent pins.
I’m at a loss and very disheartened after a full day of work and a lot of money. I am assuming there is a hardware issue? I don’t know what else to do? Any suggestions?
