[Help] Using TONEX Pedal as a MIDI Controller for software while using a separate Interface (Volt 2)?
Hi everyone, I recently picked up a TONEX pedal and I’m looking for some routing advice.
Current Setup:
- Guitar -> Volt 2 Input 1
- Volt 2 -> Mac (USB)
- Monitors -> Connected to Volt 2
This works perfectly for me as a bedroom guitarist because I can hear my system audio and guitar through one set of speakers without changing cables.
The Goal:
I’m playing at my wedding soon and want to use my TONEX presets so I don't have to rely on the wedding band’s backline. For practice at home, I want to keep my guitar plugged into the Volt 2, but use the TONEX Pedal purely as a MIDI controller to switch presets and tweak the software on my Mac.
The Question:
Can I keep my guitar in the Volt 2 but still have the TONEX pedal "talk" to the software via USB to change presets? I’m trying to avoid swapping my monitor cables back and forth between the two interfaces every time I want to play.
Has anyone successfully configured the pedal as a dedicated controller while a different interface handles the actual audio? Thanks!
