I Need Your Help :’-)

I Need Your Help :’-)

Hey there! I really need some help deciding between the LG UltraFine 40U990A Nano IPS Black and the new LG UltraGear Evo GX9 39" Tandem OLED and both are 5K2K resolution

My main use case is video editing and staring at text literally all day long incl editing softwares, timelines, browsers, Discord, YouTube, Content review, docs etc...
I also watch a lot of media so I do care about picture quality too and my environment isn't so bright
My main monitor has been the ASUS ProArt 4k IPS,
Which has INSANE text clarity but now that my work has expanded, I need a bigger screen
I wish to connect my MacBook and PC together on the same Ultrawide setup..

For context, around 3 weeks ago I bought a LG 45" 5K2K OLED UltraWide (the older non tandem OLED one) and honestly it was one of the worst monitor experiences I’ve had despite being OLED

-----------
The text clarity and readability were GENUINELY abysmal T-T
My eyes started hurting and every text looked weirdly soft/fuzzy on Windows
I tried ALLLLL kinds of things like ClearType tuning, scaling changes, colour settings, different cables, SDR/HDR tweaking, basically everything people recommended online but the problem never fully went away…. :'-(
Another thing I noticed was it had really bad colour banding while watching YouTube and darker scenes in media…
It almost looked like an 8-bit panel sometimes which completely killed the experience for me
Colour accuracy also felt very off in darker scenes where there was black, dark grey and grey in the same scene, that monitor would crush them together and I genuinely couldn’t differentiate between dark grey and black properly because the pixels just seemed... off… in those darker shades...
Making Black and Dark Grey look identical, detail felt messy and I tried a LOT of things to mitigate the problem but still it wasn’t acceptable
It honestly became exhausting to use…. So I ended up returning it.
-------------

Now I’m stuck between the UltraFine 40U990A and the newer GX9 39" Tandem OLED😭From what I’ve understood, the UltraFine is the safer choice for my workflow because Nano IPS Black apparently has the best text clarity and overall readability

BUT all the hype around these newer Tandem OLED panels is making me second guess myself 😭😭😭😭 also people keep saying the text clarity is massively improved now because of the new subpixel layout and honestly I really want the better picture quality as well
So should i risk getting the GX9 5k2k 39” tandem oled over my safer choice of Ultrafine 5k2k nano ips black?
I want opinions from people who own or have used the new 39" 5K2K Tandem OLED

Main things I wanna know:-
- Is text clarity finally close to Nano IPS Black level on the new Tandem OLED and higher ppi?
-Does it still have that fuzzy/fringed OLED text look on Windows?
- How are long sessions on it?
- Any colour banding issues while watching YouTube or HDR content?
- Any black crush/shadow detail issues like the other 45" OLED?
- Does the new Tandem OLED actually solve the eye strain problem?
- Would you personally sacrifice the UltraFine IPS Black’s text readability for the OLED image quality?

My main priorities:-
- text clarity
- colour accuracy
- MacBook + PC workflow
- long term daily use

TLDR:
Returned the LG 45" 5K2K OLED because text clarity, colour banding and black crush were awful for me. Now deciding between the LG UltraFine 40U990A Nano IPS Black and the new 39" GX9 Tandem OLED. Want to know if the new Tandem OLED actually fixes those OLED issues enough to justify choosing it over IPS Black for productivity and editing work.

Thank you SOOOO much for reading and taking the time to reply to me ❤️ :3
Your help is really appreciated!
