I want to return the the realm of positivity and hope that there is still a possibility of a Ben Solo movie, or at least a return of Ben Solo. Since Soderbergh seems to not be interested in the project anymore (or maybe he just doesn't think there is any point in trying to get it greenlit), who could direct the film instead? Technically, Lucasfilm and Disney still own the rights to the script, even if Iger and Bergman rejected it, so they could still make it if Disney changes its mind on greenlighting it. Star Wars (concerningly) is no stranger to switching out directors, and Lucasfilm was really excited about the project to where I think perhaps Dave Filoni could maybe try fighting for it if it still is in their vision. After all, Kathleen Kennedy said that "Anything is possible if someone is willing to take the risk."
I think a good candidate might actually be Shawn Levy. Driver has worked with him before and they are friends, and he already has some experience with the Star Wars universe as he is the one directing "Starfighter." It may be quite different from Soderbergh's vision, but I think the thing that matters the most (to us at least) is getting Ben back. And I think Adam Driver wants this too, given that it was him who came up with the idea, Soderbergh was just the one who further developed it into a full story.
