Medication side effects

When and how do you determine when side effects of meds are too much to deal with long term? I've been on 10 different meds the last 5 years and all had side effects to one extent to another. (with some that I put up with longer than I should have before speaking up).

How do you determine the balance of a med or med combo working well for your depression and anxiety and the miserable side effects being too much?

I know I will needs meds the rest of my life and after some scares, Im totally fine with that its certain side effects I don't know how forever I can tolerate ya know?

Where is that line drawn for you?

Water, heat Intolerance and itchy face

Im a week on Lithium Carbonate Er 300 Mg. Trying to figure out if symptoms are normal or a bad sign of things to come.

I know I need to drink lots of water and I've been doing a poor job of it but JUST how much water should I be drinking? Like whats a good daily goal?

I know heat intolerance is a thing on this med but is it the same as getting overheated easily like walking around my house and using lots of stairs? When I look it up it only talks about intolerance to the heat when outside on hot days, not your body overheating from use. Are they considered the same thing?

Also my face keeps getting super itchy? Im getting flush frequently too but I have rosacea? I don't think it's flaring because it didnt start happening till I started the Lithium. Common side effect or cause for concern? It's prob just connected to overheating?

Will just upping my water intake actually solve these issues or anything else I can do?

Thanks for any gentle advice you have. So far this med feels like it has been the best thing I've tried over the last 5 years and I really want to stick with it so I might be over thinking it.

Lithium Advice?

I don't have approval to post in the Lithium group yet and need some advice regarding water intake and heat intolerance.

I know heat intolerance is a thing on this med but is it the same as getting overheated easily like walking around my house and using lots of stairs? I thought it coincided with the warmer weather we have been having, but it's cooled down the last few days and I'm still overheating easily. Is it the med? (When I look it up it only talks about intolerance to the heat when outside on hot days, not your body overheating from use. Which is making me doubt the connection, sorry if thats dumb)
