I knew it was a bit of wishful thinking but I was really hoping that this description about unlocking outfits by *reaching the rank* not maintaining the rank in the final week was how it was going to be this season. It would have greatly alleviate the pointlessness of doing trials until just the last week or two. They go to all this trouble to re-work the actual trial tasks but make them counter-productive to participate in until the end. So really the only meaningful trial mission changes are what appear in the last week.

I guess I'll go back to coasting my 3 star ranks until the last couple weeks and going for hotshot at the last moment again instead of pushing for higher ranks throughout the season.
