Honeymoon phase [bn0150-28e]

Honeymoon phase [bn0150-28e]

Strap by anchor strap co anchorflex heritage. FKM rubber so 100x softer and more comfortable fit than the oem.
Does any one have a recommendation on fkm rubber strap that fills the gap between case and lug/strap? Curved or not either way.

First Citizen watch. I’m hooked! [BN0150-28E]

Last week i posted whether if i should get this bn0150, or the ny0155-58x (full lume dial on grey bracelet).

I had actually ordered the BN online earlier in the week but the jewelry shop could not give me an update on eta at all (even after 1 week from ordering) so i contemplated cancelling (i even emailed customer service to go ahead and cancel the order) and started looking for another promaster. Thats when i stumbled upon the NY.

Welp, yesterday i got a noticed that my order of the BN got shipped and it came in today for me to pick up.
I decided to check it out and needless to say i liked it and decided to keep it.

It is true that even though it’s a 44mm it wears much smaller maybe 41-42mm?
I really like the bezel and the large hands and the large indices.
Only thing i dont like is that the strap is too long for me so there is a slack that kinda sticks out (6.5” wrist).

Overall i think this promaster is a good intro to citizen eco-drive dive watch. Also I thought i really got a great deal ($170 after taxes) so it was really hard to pass up.

So what’s next??? Well, i ended up buying the fujitsubo the other day from japan and just waiting on that to get shipped.

So what’s next next? i got my eyes on the attesa tsuki-yomi (with the atomic moonphase) with stacked online rebates, i think i can get that for about $380 after tax.

Bn0150 - standard, go-with-anything black dial, eco-drive

Ny0155 - auto, luminous dial, a little rare colorway (?), maybe harder to find (?)

There’s about $100 different in pricing ($250 vs $350)
I think the bn is a proper first citizen dive watch, but the automatic at $350 is very tempting.

Which one would you go for?

Here’s my limited review/recommendations. This is my first time at Getaway, but i will go back to bring my kids next time. I liked it that much. For comparison, I was at RC Radiance of the Seas back in Oct. i like Getaway better - newer ship, better food/restaurant options better activities for kids, young adults, and adults in general.

Parking: Terminal B Prepay is ~$70 per day (criminal!). $35 per day if paying at gate. I opted to pay at gate. Got there around 1-ish and they were “fully booked”. I ended up parking at Terminal C which would require a little bit of walk. it ended up being only $75 for the 4 days. The light stroll is worth every penny saved.

WiFi: i got the free at sea pass. Wifi is good enough to check up on loved ones and/or house cameras, etc. But you only get 150 mins. Any more I will recommend upgrading to the unlimited- it actually is fast and better than att’s $20/day at sea roaming.

Stateroom: i got a balcony. Rooms only get power if you insert your room card by the door, so dont forget/lose your cards. Flush every toilet use! At least in my room the flush had to be pressed in fully for the toilet to flush. At times it doesnt flush at first press.

Dining: I did Moderno. It sucked! I’ve had better steaks at outback. Not worth it even with the included specialty dining and the salad bar. I recommend manhattan and savor - both are complimentary and some of cagneys steaks are actually on the menu at $20-30 which is cheaper than the $50-60 cover charge at cagneys. If you want to try shanghai noodles, it is complimentary but reservation is required and you have to either make a reservation in person at the front desk or guest services

Watch shopping: i was excited about the watches. They have really good selection but the prices are pretty much retail. I recommend NOT buying from the ship. Even at last day 25% off promotion the prices are still higher. For example i was looking at gshock gw-9400. They had 2 but both looked dusty and used. They were priced at $365 and during last day they were excluded from the sale. I tried to ask for discount but they wouldnt give any. Was also looking at several citizens and they have really good selection but again, they were priced retail and max discount was 25%. They did have series8 and super titanium attesaYou’re better off buying from brick stores.

Bars: i really didnt bar hop. Only stayed at the sugarcane pretty much all 3 days. They only have mojito but all are good. Water downed so ask for double shots. Also very LOONNGG wait but worth it. They have live music and the spot is relative small. If you dont want mojito theres another bar right on the opposite side of the wall and is outdoors.

Bahamas: i had an itirenary prior to cruising… $5 taxi to cabbage beach, then $10 taxi to fish fry for lunch, then $10 taxi to queens staircase, then walk to market. And finally walk to port. I actually would be ok skipping queens staircase. It’s literally just and old staircase with a fountain at the bottom. If you want to get bahamas shirt, locally crafted gifts, etc get them at strawmarket and BARGAIN!

UPDATE: i forgot to mention, at the bahamas port, i went up to the big kiosk that has taxi signage. I noticed it only said “cable beach”. When i asked about cabbage beach, they said the water is rough at cabbage beach, not gonthere and to just go to cable beach. Of course i did not listen. There’s a guy standing asking if people needed taxi and that was just what i needed. Cabbage beach has rental chairs, umbrellas and limited food vendors. But what i really like about cabbage beach is that there are plenty of spots away from the crowd, not too many pushy vendors, quick walk to taxi dropoff, close to the port so cheaper fare. And, guess what, the water was not rough at all.

Fish Fry: good food, good drinks but EXPENSIVE! Free wifi. Conch was what we came there for and it did not disappoint. It’s also one of the cheaper items. Umm their miami vice is vanilla and strawberry ice cream swirl with just a couple shots of vodka i think. Cheap vodka. I was expecting smoothie like drink.

Great Stirrup Cay: get there early before the crowd takes all the shaded chairs. Personally the beach isnt my ideal beach. Too small for the crowd. They do have plenty of excusion activies. But if you are not going for any excursions, i recommend exploring Bahamas on Sat and exploring the ship on Sun skipping great stirrup cay all together. But if you do go to great stirrup cay make sure you leave by around 2pm. 3pm latest. I heard people waited 1-1.5 hrs going back to the ship at last minute.

Thanks for reading and hopefully someone out there will find some of these helpful
