The weekend warrior is my Black Titanium Tough. The Blue version is worn through the week cleaning windows so gets more dings. After 6/7 months ownership I'm still loving their lightness, durability and their set and forget nature.

Last weekend was the first time I bothered to set the correct date again changing the hour for BST. Beautifully over engineered knurled crown and rock solid stem.

Picked up a Citizen Fugu (NY0040-09E) on the secondary market for about $180 and I'm honestly surprised by how much watch you get for the money.

I swapped the stock rubber strap for a NATO, which completely changed the feel lighter, more comfortable, and much more like a proper tool watch.

What drew me to the NY0040 was the history. The model is associated with COMSUBIN, the Italian Navy special forces divers, which gives it real heritage instead of just marketing nostalgia. On top of that, it's an ISO 6425 certified 200m diver something you rarely see at this price point, especially with an in-house automatic movement.

It feels rugged, simple, and purpose-built in a way many modern "heritage" divers try to imitate but rarely match under $200.

Anyone else running their Fugu on a NATO instead of rubber?

been looking my first non Chinese watch. saw this Citizen Weekender Ecodrive and once I saw the blue face with brown leather strap I knew I had to have. also manage to find it for a pretty sweet price so extra bonus.

i have a Citizen Sealand AW-1800-89x. Citizen should have used a black handset with no lume. This watch is has zero legibility when the lume is half-faded as the lumed hands don't give any contrast. Unlike my 2 other full lume dial watches that have black unlumed hands that are superbly legible.

Anyway. I am thinking if replacing the handset of this Sealand with black, unlumed hands. I read that the handsets for Miyota 2053 and 2115 quartz fits the J810 movement in this watch. Can anyone confirm this?

I own a regular Citizen NY0040 and think these Italian military versions are so cool. Does anyone know anything about them or own one? There seems to be very little evidence that they ever existed.

I know I certainly get caught up in changing straps as it’s the easiest mod you can do to a watch but it also will completely change the Fuel character and function of the piece.

Recently since I’ve started to get some watches with on the fly micro adjustments I can’t tolerate wearing a fixed size bracelet that I can’t adjust during the day as my wrist changes sizes.

All that being said don’t forget the original strap your watch came on. For this piece I found the rubber strap too tough when I just bought it and it immediately came off. I’ve run about five different straps over the life of the watch and finally decided to pull out the original hard rubber dive strap that the watch came on and you know what it’s bad ass.
