Warranty Replacement Issue
So I’ve had AT&T for a while now but due to the economy right now I’m considering switching to something more affordable like T-Mobile. 2 Months ago, I did a battery replacement and the tech damaged the motherboard on my device so they had to do a warranty replacement. Fast forward a month and a half later, the device decided that out of the blue it was just gonna start giving battery issues. It was charging in reverse and ultimately stopped charging all together a day later. I called Asurion and went in circles for over 6 hours until they eventually sent me a new one but the clause said if there was liquid damage there would be a $1399 charge. Im thinking this phone must be new for them to be charging that much if it was in-fact (unlikely) water damage. I was contemplating switching to T-Mobile cause I get better coverage where I am and honestly I cant deal with the high bills anymore. I checked my settings and the phone I already paid off 2 months ago is SIM Locked. And I think thats ridiculous because it doesn’t matter what kind of warranty replacement, if the phone is paid off the device should be unlocked. Whats the work around for this? I dont want to waste my energy battling with them over this.
