How do you respond to friends/family sending you "May the fourth be with you." messages when you're loyal to the Empire? Do you have any clever response?

I am playing RDR2 for the first time and have been loving this game. I was taking a bath in Saint Denis and after exiting it I received a message that my inventory was updated to include the Naval Compass. I went to camp and sure enough I was able to give it to Pearson. I can't imagine it was intended to be found in a bath tub. Did I find a glitch?

Edit: I just looked it up. I never went into the boathouse at Braithwaite Manor.
