The first picture is with a fully finger coiled routine that I dont do often. The others are my regular routines. 3rd picture is day 6 hair so it's pretty frizzy. The last two are after I styled my hair today without doing bangs, and it's also right after diffusing.
I cut myself bangs about 2 ish years ago (didn't know how to properly style my hair before then, so all of my 'learning to do my curly hair' journey happened with bangs). My friends and family made it clear that they dislike my bangs, and that I look weird as a black girl with bangs (I still dont understand WHY they think race is important? Lol whatever I guess)
I decided today to style my hair without bangs to see if I like it. I cant tell if it's horrible, or if I'm just not used to having my hair this way. I dont exactly hate how my hair turned out today, but I LOVE my bangs, and I'm now looking through pictured of them like they're my dead wife or something. But what if everyone else is right my bangs look weird or out of place?
Routine:
Wash and condition with Aussie (the avacado moisturizing line). Add leave-in conditioner (orange scala). Split hair in half, add gel (got 2 be glued) in sections and brush style (I just use my detangling brush). At the top of my head I do a horizontal part and brush my hair back so that only the front has a middle part. The rest I brush to the respectful side. For my bangs I part out a tiny section at the front, use a small amount of gel and finger coil them. I diffuse on high heat and high speed, dry the length and ends if my hair first, then focus on my roots when my hair is about 70% dry. After diffusing I remove the diffuse attachment, stretch my hair down with one hand and blowdry downwards (this helps lengthen the hair. My unstretched hair is brushing my shoulders). During the week I'll add a small amount of gel to any curls that start frizzing.
Sleep:
Put my hair in a ponytail using a loose scrunchie. Add satin scrunchies down the length if my hair to keep the length and minimize frizzing and volume (because I dont like voluminous hair). I leave my bangs out. I then put my hair in one of those long bonnets.
My teacher for AICE math kept reminding us how "stressed" he's been this year, as if to compensate for not teaching us properly. All he's done is just assign a crap ton of homework and rush through each topic. Tried to teach us the calculus part in only 2 weeks.
I've nevet felt this dumb before in my life. I tried to do a few past papers and I couldn't even get ONE question fully right, even though we've covered everything (kind of) in class.
I think I'm definitely failing, but oh well 💁🏽♀️
