As someone who doesn’t know enough and has never bought a SUV, only leased sedans, I need help on this journey of educating myself on all the things to look out for.

I have two babies so I will need an SUV that fits two car seats and an adult, at the very least. But being that we plan to keep it for a while, I have to learn all the things to look out for, to maintain affordability.

I’m starting off high and want to start my search looking at 7 seater SUVs that are reliable and potentially have resale value. I’m hoping to stay under $20k. I understand that isn’t realistic for a car with no issues so I’d like to also state that what I really NEED is a 5 seater SUV that can fit two car seats and an adult.

I’d love to narrow down the search to a few top SUVs with low maintenance issues due to $ and then start looking at dealerships
