I have played many brands and eras of pinball. I find that some machines are more "fun" than others.
For instance, Zaccaria tables with the retro label, I often do not find fun, whereas many of the Williams machines I find fun. This isn't a universal rule, there are a few Williams machines that I dislike, a few Zaccaria that I replay. I'm trying to quantify what helps or hurts a table as to it's level of fun.
What appeal in general to all of you?
Is nostalgia or a good theme a necessary element for fun? Is the sound design a factor? Is it table difficulty?
What am I missing or overlooking?
