PC Info Needed for Cabinet

Im starting the planning to build my virtual pinball cabinet and im confused a bit on the PC side. Im talk to chat GPT and Gemini and they are saying i need a a 4070 or 4070ti with a rizen 7 7800x3d. I feel like its a bit overkill. My playfield will be a 42 inch LG 4k OLED. backglass will be a 32 inch 1080p and a 15inch 1080p DMD. I want to use puppack when i want to use them. Could i get away with a bit cheaper setup? What are you guys running for a 4k playfield? any performance issues?

A real version of dark chaos!

I've been involved with the vpin community for over a decade and never seen anything this fucking cool. Apophis did an amazing job.

Simpsons data east drakkon mod

Does anyone know why the color would be off on my Simpsons Data East table. This is the only table affected. I've deleted the ini and deleted and redownloaded the table and it's still the same.

Version 1.0 complete?

Hi everyone. I think I've finished version 1.0 of my pinball machine. I know it still needs a lot of improvements, but it works perfectly now. I'd say the hardest part was setting up the three screens, which gave me quite a headache. Now I'm really enjoying this hobby at home. There aren't any pinball parlors where I live; the nearest one is over 200 km away. Long live pinball!

PinOne Mini DOF Setup Advanced

Is there a way to do more advanced setup of DOF on the pinone mini.

I was hoping to be able to specify the intensity and feel of the feedback based on the toys on the pinball table.

Right now the feedback feels to Sharp. i want to soften it without losing too much from the intensity for the flippers. but then same thing for the bumpers near flippers.
As for the circle bumpers typically at the top of the tables would have a little less intensity since they are further aware.

Then activatable toys like draw bridge coming down, doors opening/closing, objectings moving to open new paths, etc. would have a more rumbly feel but not super intense like default stab feeling.

Is that something I can set up with the 2 solenoids in the pinone mini?
Is vibration/rumble even possible with 2 solenoids? and the other possible settings?

Need help for Artwork

Hey guys

over the past few weeks I’ve been working a lot on my wall-mounted pinball project and improving small details.

Now I wanted to create a custom artwork in a Stern “Stranger Things” style (80s retro, neon, arcade vibes).

I tried using Inkscape and Photoshop myself, but honestly — I have to admit that I’m just not good at design or being creative 😅

So instead of struggling forever, I’d rather find someone who can actually do this properly.

👉 I’m looking for someone who can design the full artwork for me

👉 Preferably in that retro / Stranger Things / arcade style

I can provide dimensions, references, and ideas — I just need someone with the skills and creativity to bring it to life.

If you’re interested or know someone who does this kind of work, feel free to comment or DM me 🙌

Thanks a lot!

New VPX Front-End Table Launcher and Companion Web App: VpinFE and VPinPlay

https://i.redd.it/chmowya0smvg1.gif

VPinFE supports Linux, Windows, Mac, and ARM devices, with up to 3 screens for table, backglass, and DMD. It includes a full remote Manager UI so you can configure your cabinet/desktop, manage tables, organize collections, update media, and control your setup right from a browser.

VPinFE has automated media sourcing through VPinMediaDB. VPinFE can manage and present a full media set for your tables, including images for tables, backglasses, DMDs, wheels, cabs, flyers, real DMDs, color real DMDs. VPinFE can also source videos for tables, backglasses, and DMDs, perfect for a 3-screen cabinet. It also sources and supports table audio. This gives you a much richer and easier to manage front-end experience, while automatically keeping your tables and all media assets organized.

VPinFE also includes support for DOF through libdof, along with real DMD hardware support via libdmdutil for supported external DMD devices, coupled with a theme like Trifecta and you have an incredible attract mode with videos, audio, and LEDs!

See it in action on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YD4eZIqHypw

We've also recently created VPinPlay for online ratings, scoring, and play tracking available through VPinFE. Its fully open for anyone to use and you can even host your own local VPinPlay using docker on your local network, so everything sent from VpinFE to VPinPlay is 100% local and private.

All of this is open source and feel free to use it anyway you want!

VPinFE Repo: https://github.com/superhac/vpinfe

VPinPlay Repo: https://github.com/superhac/vpinplay

VPinMediaDB Repo: https://github.com/superhac/vpinmediadb

VPinPlay Website: https://www.vpinplay.com/

We are always looking for contributors, especially in the theming area. Its all based on vanilla html, css, and js. So if you're interested in creating your own themes, like I did here, you can read the theme docs here.

Amps and Speakers are in

Finally got my SSF setup almost dialed in and I can honestly say… this is where virtual pinball starts to feel real.

Hearing the ball roll across the table while feeling it travel through the cab, flippers snapping in the front, bumpers popping where they should… total game changer.

Current setup:

Dayton Audio all around

2× 5" Bose speakers in the backbox

4× Dayton HDN-8 (2 rear, 2 front near flippers)

2× Dayton BST-1 ready to go in once I pull the PC from the tower

Thinking of adding a couple mini bass shakers under the coin door for some extra punch down low.

Now I’m stuck on the subwoofer: Do I build a proper enclosure inside the cab… or go full old-school and throw a 10" car sub under it?

Might be overkill… but part of me feels like that’s the point with SSF.

For those who’ve gone deep on SSF builds, what did you end up doing for your sub setup?

Ball wobbles VPX 10.8 Bram Stokers Dracula

I have played this game on a different computer but recently upgraded to a newer computer and had to reinstall VPX and all my games. On the VPW version of Bram Stokers Dracula (downloaded from VPU) the ball wobbles as if it is eccentrically weighted. It is very weird. I’ve played many other tables on this installation of VPX and other tables don’t do this. I google searched this issue and found nothing so am asking here. I have reinstalled the table to see if that would fix but same issue. BTW this is one of my favorite tables of all time. Highly recommended.

Created a little compact desktop pinball controller

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7336852

Remixed it off a mini pinball machine. It's a bit janky, but basically all you need is a USB B cable, Sanwa buttons, and an encoder. Took me like 5 minutes to build up after it was printed. I just wanted something like the X-Arcade setups but just for pinball and not the size of my desk. Just plug the buttons in anywhere and setup joy2key.

Hope maybe it was something someone was looking for, I'll probably try to make it a little better in the future, maybe a tiny bit wider.

Screen help

I recently bought an updated preloaded SSD card for my creative arcades machine. The old SSD works perfectly fine. The problem is when I plug in the new SSD the screens are out of order. The most common problem is that the backglass and dmd are reversed. I’ve tried to switch the display cables but that doesn’t work. Any ideas what I need to do to get the new SSD to display properly?

Pinscape pico + rumble motors

Hi everyone,

I'm building a PinStubby using Pinscape Pico. I'm fairly certain i've figured out how to get all my inputs working, but i'm struggling to wrap my head around how i can use my 360-controller rumble motors for haptics. What do i need to do and connect? I've tried understanding the github and config file, but it's a bit difficult.

Thanks.

Or Does anyone have a budget controller I can get where it does not rely on SCP tool kit?

Two Questions about Ball Graphics and Scoreboard

Quick questions:

  1. I've noticed on a few games that the ball seems to have a tail behind it as it moves around, like the ball is stretching. How can I fix that?

  2. Some games the score board doesn't show up on the main monitor I'm playing on, but shows on the other monitor. I try to move it over but it won't stay on top of the game, but the game screen moves on top of it, hiding the score board. How can I fix that?

Thanks!
