I’ve known this guy for a while and he’s always been kind of flirty with me, but I never really took him seriously. Over time he would randomly gift me things like watches and jewelry, which surprised me but I didn’t think too deeply about it. Recently we ended up at the same bar one night, I had quite a bit to drink and we ended up going back to my place together. The next morning I woke up and he was gone. No message, nothing. I just brushed it off at first but now it’s been a full week and I haven’t heard from him at all. What makes it even weirder is that I ran into a guy he sometimes hangs out with and he told me he hasn’t seen or heard from him either, like he just disappeared. He saw the watch I had in my hand and started laughing, so I asked him what's funny about it. He told me that even though it was a real one he got all these items for quite cheap on galaxy bids. And then he proceeded to show me his own that he bought with him together. Now I’m sitting here confused because his behavior before and after doesn’t add up at all. The gifts, the attention and then just completely vanishing after we finally hooked up.
TL;DR: A guy I was seeing had been giving me gifts and attention for a while, we finally hooked up after a night out, then he disappeared completely. It’s been a week, no contact, and even his friend says he hasn’t seen him. I’m confused how he went from all that effort to vanishing.
