Artist behind Megabonk's Steam capsule made ours for $600. Would you click, and do you think it fits our game?

Our game is an RPG meets whack-a-mole incremental clicker with lots of upgrades. It has a pixel art style while the new capsule art does not, check our Steam page to see them side-by-side.

Do you think it works? Would you be disappointed if you saw our game's steam page after clicking on the capsule, or do you think it is a good representation of our game?

Credits to https://www.artstation.com/ape_magic/albums/14859882 for the new art!

Hiring a capsule artist or not: treat yo self?

I saw some discussions about whether paying a professional capsule artist is worth it. You can consider our before-and-after if you are still on the fence, and I'll share my thoughts on the process and why I think it was worth it for us.

Working with the artist was very chill. We got in contact with him a few months in advance to book a time to work with him, so that our art would be ready well before Steam Nextfest. He'd send us sketches, we'd give our feedback, and so on slowly working toward a final design. The early sketches weren't what we had in mind exactly, and our feedback was heard. Still, we could rely on the artist to make the right calls for us. Doing solo (in our case duo) game dev, you have to make so many decisions all the time, that it was a nice change to rely on an expert.

IMO, if you can spare the money, and you believe in what you're creating, consider hiring a professional because it's a treat! Of course, I am counting on it helping out with sales, but tbh, we have been working hard for months, and it's just nice to give ourselves a vote of confidence. Plus, it's nice to have something I can hang up on my wall... Anyone else look at it this way?

Animated Bosses based on Asset Pack

Hello everyone!

I created these bosses based on an asset pack from Beowulf. The art pack didn't have enough fitting bosses so I decided to make them myself. Very curious to hear everyone's feedback since I'm still mainly a developer :p

The small ones are the ones from the asset pack and the big guys are the ones I made. Please feel free to share your honest as possible thought!

We just released our 3rd Major Update! - Whack-A-Monster

We just released our 3rd Major Update!

Another new level: Deadwater Beach. Along with 4 new enemies and a new boss(with mechanics as well)

We really wanted to have players be able to adjust their playstyles a bit somehow, so we decided to add a Gear System.
The Gear System will allow you to select from multiple gear pieces after defeating a boss. These give you powerful playstyle specific bonusses. You can equip up to 4 of these in total.

Another new mechanic: Ghost Hammers. These grant you have a chance to hit random enemies with a ghost hammer when attacking. These hammer also copy your on hit effects, so a ghost hammer with a column hammer equipped will also attack in a column for example!

Please give your honest as possible feedback. It is as always very very welcome
