3 years of consulting and want to do something I care about
Hello everyone,
This is my first post so I’m hoping I’m doing this right! I’m a 25M and I will be officially tech consulting for 3 years in August. It’s my first job outside of college and my degree was computer science. During COVID I coasted because honestly I’m a quick learner and don’t really try hard to learn things well so I just did what I needed to graduate but it’s 3 years later and now more than ever I have a genuine interest in making things and my job is literally terrible.
I have many benefits, I WFH, good pay, flexible hours but I would throw all that way away in heartbeat for something that lets me grow my skills in programming (my interests lie around robotics, prosthetics, and nanotechnology) and I don’t know where to go from here. I know that I’m young but the direction in the world right makes it seem really hard to move from where you are to where you want to be and I’m just looking for some advice from more experience folks!
I’ll answer any more questions you guys have so please let me know! Also I’ve learned git so I’m gonna try to find projects (also super hard) and put them there.
Thank you guys!
