Numelvi making dog depressed?

Has anyone switched from Zenrelia to Numelvi and noticed their dog acting differently? My dog was previously stable on Zenrelia (+ a kangaroo based diet) after a few flares. My vet, who is super awesome and I trust, suggested switching her to Numelvi because of the more targeted mechanism of action. She’s not itching (at least not that I can tell) but she’s just acting weird.

She is slinking around the house looking guilty like she does when she’s itchy, she doesn’t want to go for her daily car rides, it takes a lot of coaxing to get her up and moving, and she seems like she’s having more trouble moving around the house. She’s 11.5 but she’d been doing pretty well before this. She doesn’t seem like she’s in acute pain but she seems depressed for want of a better word (though I know that could be anthropomorphisizing her behavior).

I’m going to keep her on the Numelvi for the rest of the month (she’s started about a week ago) and hope she gets used to it but wondered if anyone else had a similar experience.

Switch to flatback right now or wait a day to avoid irritation?

I was away from home and reached up and felt my ear and realized the decorative front of my flatback earring fell out sometime in the last few days. My second lobe piercing was done on Jan 1, 2026 and it had felt pretty healed but when I noticed the face of the flatback was gone it felt like the hole had started to close over the flatback without the decorative face to keep it in place. I was able to get the flatback back through the lobe but I had to hold it in place and obviously I couldn’t walk around holding my ear indefinitely so I put the butterfly back earring I had in my first lobe piercing (done >20 years ago) in the second lobe piercing as a placeholder until I could get home. The piercing feels a little tender so I know I irritated it and it stung a bit putting the butterfly back in.

My question: I know butterfly backs are wrong and I need to replace it with a flatback but should I do that immediately? Or should I give it a day or two to settle down before I poke at it again?

For context, the butterfly backs are 14k gold and they are children’s size with shorter posts so they don’t hurt/get knocked when I sleep.
