Hi. I'm an apprentice at NXP, in Paris. I haven't applied to offers yet, I've just finished writing down my resume. I'm targeting EE companies, like Rensas, TI, Micron (not necessarily these ones, but really any company within that domain, as I know I don't have any chance in getting in these). I'm also opened to other domains within EE (production for instance). I'm searching for an internship abroad (non-negotiable, I can't graduate without). I don't really have any location in mind, maybe Asia because of the density of semicon companies there, or anywhere else, especially if I can get a "big" company. I'm not sure about the VISA policy for Asian countries (mainly Taiwan or China, since I do speak a little chinese), so if anyone know and can share experience

Thanks in advance

Hi there, I don't know if it's allowed (sorry if it isn't), but I'm an apprentice and I'm looking for an international internship (not in France), this is my resume. Do you guys have some advices? I have tried engineeringResumes but they didn't provide many advices for students/apprentices. Thanks

Basically, I'm an apprentice at NXP, and I'm looking for an internship in 2027. I don't have any preferred location, though it'd be nice to go to Asia, since the field of semiconductors (which I'm really interested in) is really developed there, and I do speak a little chinese.

[1 YoE, NFC Hardware Application Engineer in an international semicon company, EE or semiconductor related internship, no country in particular (international internship), preferably in Asia]

I Haven't sent this resume yet. I would like some tips and feedback before, if possible.
I'm targeting an internship at companies like TI, Analog Devices, Renesas, Micron, or eventually companiees in other fields of EE or semicon, like KLA, Applied Materials, ASML...
I'm located in Paris, France, I'm an apprentice at NXP. I've been doing some RF related tasks and some client facing tasks as well (since i'm an Application Engineer).
Regarding possible VISA, I don't really know if I should be afraid of that or not, I'm kind of worried that no one would accept me since they're probably a lot of equally qualified persons in the country

International internship for an apprentice in the field of semiconductors.

Hi.

Long story long, I'm an apprentice in a big semiconductor company in Germany. I'm not production oriented, but rather application (in RF, more precisely). I will need, probably next year but maybe in 2 years as well, to go abroad for at least 10 weeks for an internship. I could technically stay in my company, just spend this time abroad (also in Europe), but I was wondering if doing a "proper" internship in another company would be better. Here are my thoughts :

Internal mobility

Pros

  • Probably the easiest thing (assuming it's possible from the company's side, it's not sure yet), as I won't have to actually search for an internship.

Cons

  • I don't know if it could be as valuable as a "proper" internship. As far as I understand, I'll be doing virtually the same thing as I'm doing right now (since I'll work with people I already work with), just in another country. So I was wondering if it could be seen negatively by a recruiter, because that doesn't look like an actual internship

"Regular" internship

Pros

  • I feel like it's one opportunity I may never have again to travel and discover new stuff. I do speak a little mandarin (alongside German, English and Spanish), and I continue practicing daily, so I kind of wonder if I could go either in Shenzhen (or other cities in mainland China) or Taiwan (too bad they use traditional character set), because of the industry (+ I've always wanted to go there). If not possible, I'd still be interested in going to the US (I know stuff are tough there, but if it's the price to pay for an internship in a decent company I'm down) or some other countries in Asia (would really like to go to Hong Kong, don't think there are fabs there but there's still some semicon companies).
  • That might have a bigger value to recruiters compared to the first option (don't know, really)
  • That could also be a way to do something else. Application engineering is something I really like, and I'd gladly take a FAE position in the future, but it'd still be cool if I could do something else for a couple of months

Cons

  • I feel like that'd be a logistical nightmare. It's never really clear in the offers if these intern positions are opened to foreign people. If it's the case, I don't really think they'd risk it by taking someone from another country when they are hundred if not thousand of applicants already in the country. Sure, I'm an apprentice and I have some experience in the industry, but I'm not really sure it matters. I don't even know if it'll actually benefit me or not
  • I'm not sure if any internship is worth to take. I'm obviously looking for big companies like Renesas, Micron, TI but I don't know how going in a "smaller" company will affect my resume

Thanks guys, and sorry for the wall of text (originally wrote "long story short" at the beginning, but long story long fits better lol

[student][EE] I'm an apprentice at a big semiconductor company. I don't really have personal projects, only "projects" I've done at work. Will it affect negatively my resume? (looking for an internship abroad)

Hi. As title says, I'm an apprentice in a very big semiconductor company (I'm not in production, but rather application in RF field). I don't really have personal projects ongoing, so I was wondering if it would be an issue in my resume, or can the "projects" (wouldn't really call it like that) I'm into at work compensate for this lack?

Thanks
