I've been in a permabulk for the past 4 years. I didn't realize that it was possible to gain muscle in maintenance back then. I was also just barely hitting puberty so I couldn't make gains as fast. I figured bulking hard would be the solution. I'm now 225 at 6'2 (up 110 pounds in 4 years), with a maintenance of 4000, and I've never been more depressed about my physique. I could lose all my muscle and I wouldn't care as long as I was lean. It would be a fresh start. I would go slow but I have basic training for the marines in 4 months, and I want the brunt of my weight loss to be in a controlled environment. I'm going to cut an insane amount in 2 months, then maintain and replenish my glycogen stores. I'll re-evaluate and see if I need to go even lower from there or just maintain. It's fine, I know a lot about macronutrient tracking, and I don't care if I give myself an eating disorder for a bit. I pretty much consume the same sludge every day right now anyways so it'd be an improvement really.

If anyone has any thoughts before I commit to this, let me hear it.
