Hi, I am writing this post because I am in urgent need of a new dashcam. My current is the Viofo A118C2 one and it's been my one and only for like 3 years now. The capacitor died months ago and it resets the date and corrupts files whenever I park.

I've been reading on here and and come to a realisation to either get a Viofo A329S, BlackVue Elite 9, Vueroid S1 Infinite or Thinkware U3000 Pro. I don't want another cheap dashcam, more like a real 4K front with a solid night vision and a parking mode. My budget is $500 so I can afford each one. I thought to be loyal to Viofo and get that A329S, however I might be missing out on something better.

I honestly can't wait anymore as the summer is almost here, so I'll be driving more and I want reliable video for highways, city traffic and overnight parking. Basically ready to pull the trigger so please help me make the final decision!

yesyes i know something being "best" is completely subjective and everything have their own pros and cons. my nephew is graduating soon and his mom hinted me hes been wanting a new webcam for ages now so i took it up as my mission to get him the best possible in 2026. he's starting a tiny vtubing channel and streams bird-feeder footage for his biology club, so low-light and autofocus actually matter.

make sure its like futureproof atleast for the next few years so i wouldnt be hearing anything about him wanting an upgrade any time soon. should i just pick the best option on a rtings ranking since it seems to be the top result blog website? he's pretty knowledgable himself on the webcam topic but yk asking him personally would totally ruin the surprise..
