I’m sure this is a common post, but I forgot my password for my iPhone 12. I have one attempt left, but I am sure that I could remember it if I could get a couple more. I know that it is practically impossible to get the data on the phone without a password, and I don’t back up to the cloud (stupid, I know. I already berated myself). I have never once forgotten a password, idk how this happened- too much reliance on Face ID.

So, my question is what would happen if I set an Activation Lock on the phone? (I hope this doesn’t go against the sub’s 1st rule, as I am not looking to “by***” it). I fully know my iCloud user and password. So what would happen if I set an Activation Lock and then resolve it? Would I get more attempts at the password, be able to access the phone, or would the data on it be automatically erased once its set?

The only major thing I care about are the photos, and there are so many of them, like 5 years worth :(

Sorry, don’t know if this fits the sub. But its the only one I can post on.
