I’m finishing up my first play through of the Mass Effect trilogy and I surprisingly found myself more invested in the romance options than I thought I would be. Then thinking about it further, I realized that two of my favorite games that I have played in recent years also had friendship or romance systems: Fire Emblem Three Houses and Midnight Suns.

Can anyone recommend me some games that have similar mechanics? Preferably ones where getting to know other characters better has an effect on the gameplay, not just the story
