I like the Avatar movies, and the trailers look fun. Trouble is, I really dislike games that feel too easy/hands-off, and I'm wondering if this is one of them.
For instance, I've tried a couple of the Assassin's Creed games because they look cool, but the gameplay felt very 'hands off' to me with undemanding platforming and combat. I felt similarly about the Batman Arkham games and Uncharted. Consequences for failure are low and the emphasis is on making sure the player gets to do something cool-looking.
By contrast, I enjoyed Zelda: Breath of the Wild and found Final Fantasy VII: Remake and Rebirth fun if I didn't use items.
I don't need everything to be Dark Souls, but I seem to only enjoy games if there's immediate punishment for failure. Should I buy Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora?
