[S][USA-CA] Pentax 17

[S][USA-CA] Pentax 17

EDIT: pending

Alas, this is a tough one for me. But I'm moving up to larger print sizes and 35mm full frame is probably my future.

I've babied this camera. It's always had a UV filter on it. It looks pristine and works like new. Asking $400 shipped to the continental US. I've never had issues with battery drain or anything. As far as I'm concerned, this camera has absolutely lived up to the billing.

NOTE: I no longer have the wrist strap that came with it. But I'll throw in a cable release for free which is useful for long / night exposures.

EDIT: not sure why, but imgur automatically deletes my post if it contains images of the lens for some weird reason 😂 I'm happy to PM more detailed images. For now just leaving the one image up with the actual timestamp in hopes that it doesn't keep getting deleted 🤷

PS: I took this photo (and many others I've posted in the past year) with this camera: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogCommunity/comments/1t0hi1c/yet_another_half_frame_darkroom_print/

Workflow question for those with dry darkrooms

I'm looking at moving my BW printing equipment into an outdoor shed that lacks running water. I've found a lot of useful resources from other folks on this sub with similar setups, but I had a specific question about workflow:

How do folks navigate washing test prints? Do you just eschew a full wash for test prints (and, say, briefly dip them in a couple trays of water) or do you take them to a place with running water to give them a fuller rinse and to evaluate them?

As I get more and more experienced I find that the number of test prints I need to make is less and less, but I still sometimes go through several sheets to fine-tune things here and there. I've been giving my test prints a decent rinse in my current setup with a sink, but moving outside is making me consider whether it's really necessary!

[S][USA-CA] Nikon D3100 with two lenses (for DSLR scanning)

EDIT: SALE PENDING

Timestamp: https://imgur.com/a/dKB29zl

Selling my pristine digital SLR kit which I used solely indoors for DSLR scanning. Comes with a Micro-Nikkor 40mm lens and a 35mm lens. This is a crop frame sensor so these end up being normal ish or slightly longer than normal. It's a perfect starter kit if you're just getting into it. Everything in great working order and glass is clean.

**Priced to move: $125 shipping included to the Continental US.**

I'm doing some spring cleaning and this kit just clutters my storage too much, plus I do not scan at all anymore. I just want to get it to someone who can use it, ASAP.

Happy to supply more photos if requested!

Pixel 9 Pro camera face focus issue

My Pixel has developed this debilitating issue where any time a face comes into the frame, the camera app crashes. And sometimes the camera app will crash in a way that shows colorful vertical lines all over the screen.

It's exactly as described in this other post: https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/1sow443/pixel_9_pro_camera_app_broken/

Does anyone know if this has been acknowledged by Google, and whether a bug fix is coming? Because it really makes the camera functionally useless as least for capture photos of friends and family (which is mostly what I use it for).

My old enlarger fits within my new enlarger

I've been using the small Intrepid setup for the past year and it's been amazing to learn on. But after sticking with it for a year, I figured it was time to move up to something more solid and capable of larger prints.

Lo and behold, a kind gentleman at a local gallery/darkroom offered me this behemoth of a Saunders/LPL enlarger for an extremely reasonable price. And I can say that I totally get it -- everything from the baseboard and stand to the focus and lifting mechanism just feels so solid and amazing.

I guess it's time to give it a dedicated spot rather than the wobbly camping table over the bathroom toilet!

Selling a few teeny tiny LTM lenses with fixed aperture and fixed focus. Timestamp: https://imgur.com/a/3FS7VhI

- Chroma double glass - $80 (24mm f/11 - $80)

- M39-adapted lens from Agfa Futura Fixfokus - $40 (24mm f/8 - by vintageglas on Etsy)

Willing to do $100 for both together. All prices include shipping to the continental US.

The Chroma double glass has a super nice metal housing with standard filter thread and hockey puck-sized case, but it's quite soft towards the edges of the frame. The Fixfokus lens is sharper but comes in a 3D-printed housing that's much flimsier.

This might be a bit of a basic question for this sub, but I'm curious if folks know what kind of thingy I could use to cover up this flash port on my Nicca 3-F. I wear glasses, so pushing my face up to the tiny viewfinder window means that flash port is in a perfect position to scratch up my lenses (on my glasses).

I'm guessing whatever works for the analogous port on the Barnack Leicas would also work here, but I'm just speculating.

(There's been some discussion about this in other threads but I figured I'd make a standalone post in case others end up in my situation.)

I started BW printing around a year ago and have since worked out the intrepid enlarger pretty well, running around 50 or so frames through it. I'm thinking of moving up towards something nicer and am curious about what my options are that won't break the bank. I'm willing to spend a few hundred if there's a solid option out there. I'm in the US (California to be specific), by the way.

For reference, I print BW only and 95% of the time I'm starting from 35mm or 35mm half frame negatives. I also dabble in a little 6x6 and the flexibility to accommodate that would be nice, but not a deal breaker. Large format is not on the horizon for me. For final print size, my current copy stand limits me to 8x10, and I'd like to try 11x14 eventually.

Here's what I don't like about the intrepid enlarger:

- Mount makes it a PITA to align. It's hard to explain unless you've used one, but the way that you attach it to the copy stand is just annoying to deal with. I end up having to re-align it constantly.

- Focusing isn't great since there's one big knob and I find that it drifts out of focus easily.

- Not the enlarger's fault (well, kinda) but the copy stand I ended up using is a little janky and not super smooth for moving the head up and down. And the baseboard doesn't quite fit 8x10 so my easel hangs awkwardly off the edge.

I bought this before I lucked into a Zeroimage 4x5 on FB marketplace a month ago. It's a wonderful camera with a very nice shutter design that's easy to open momentarily or lock open. Solidly built.

Not much else to say about it! It's a pinhole camera. I love its wooden aesthetic. But I like having the flexibility of extension frames, so hoping to find this a good home. I'm not actually sure it's even being manufactured anymore, so snap it up while you have a chance!

Asking $125 (shipping included to continental US). Willing to include a small discount if you're willing to do local pickup in the Bay area. Note: I purchased for $160.

All in excellent condition and includes charger (not pictured).

Used only inside on a copy stand for DSLR scanning and taking photos of my prints. I've pretty heavily consolidated on a phone-only darkroom flow within the past year so have no need for scanning equipment anymore -- hoping to find it a good home at a very low price.

Asking $250 for the whole lot, includes shipping to continental US.

You will not find an OM-2n body in better condition than this. It is seriously mint and recently CLA'd by John Titterington. Everything works perfectly. Viewfinder is bright and clear.

Lenses are in great shape. The 50/1.8 is in 8/10 condition mostly on account of internal dust, and the 28/2.8 is a 9/10. No fungus or scratches, and aperture + focus rings all move well.

The CLA service was almost $100 on its own, so I'm asking $500 shipped to the continental US for the whole lot.

Half frame + traditional grain 100 speed film enlarged to 8x10 hits that slightly grainy sweet spot for me. IMO comparable to full frame 35mm plus a traditional grain 400 speed film, e.g. Tri-X or HP5.

This is Kentmere 100 developed in Rodinal.

So, I print with an intrepid enlarger on a janky copy stand in my bathroom. It's not an ideal setup but I have found that the enlarger is liable to drift out of focus within the same printing session.

Is this a common thing, slash should I be checking focus more often within a session? What are folks experiences with this?

I have a theory for why this happens in my particular case -- I was printing from a half frame negative using a 40mm lens to 8x10 paper. With the intrepid enlarger, to achieve focus with this setup means squishing the bellows down almost to their most compressed position. My hunch is that the bellows being so compressed exerts enough pressure on the focus column (i.e. the bellows are trying to expand) to slightly move it out of focus even if I don't touch the enlarger.

This doesn't happen in all cases -- for example if I'm printing from a 6x6 negative with an 80mm lens to 8x10 then the bellows are more extended and I haven't noticed the issue.

Selling an extremely good condition SQ-A kit with 80/2.8 PS lens, 120 back, and waist level finder. Asking $650 for the whole thing (shipping included) to the continental US. $600 if you're local to the bay area and willing to meet up!

Timestamp and photos

All functions work and cosmetically the unit looks almost new, except for a little paint missing near the WLF magnifier. No foam cracking inside, no leaks. Finder is in great condition. Lens is also pristine -- glass is clear, and aperture / focus rings move well.

Asking $600 for the camera, lens, and back. Additionally I have a Tenba case that fits the camera perfectly, along with cable release and two 120 film canister thingys -- willing to throw those in for an additional $50 for interested parties.

I just don't use this camera much anymore. I have small kids and I always just reach for my 35mm gear at this point. So, facing up reality and hoping to find this a good home!
